I stumbled onto J.R. Rain by accident thanks to the Kindle and have read a lot of his work. He is getting better as a writer. I can see him becoming a best selling author shortly. This book introduced interesting characters that you want to get to know. I hope he writes more along this line.

A quick, fun read! I thoroughly enjoyed this little novella from one of my favorite authors. A great way to spend a few hours of the afternoon. I propose a series: would love to know what happens next with these two quirky characters! Two thumbs up!

Another yummy story for vampire lovers.J.R. does it again with his classic humorous/no-nonsense style of writing.Do I detect the start of another series?

This is a short story bundled with previews for other books I've already read.I will think twice before buying anything else from the Kindle store for this author despite the fact that before this, I was a fan.

Wow!!From the title, I kind of expected a `tongue in cheek' comedy. However, "The Vampire with the Dragon Tattoo" is an excellent detective story about a missing teenage girl who just happens to hunt vampires.Hunting vampires and then disappears, I should say, leaving the tale of what has become of her to the talents of skeptical P.I., Mr. Spinoza. J.R. Rain's reputation as a master detective story teller is further enhanced by this forage into the supernatural. My only complaint is the narrative is a short one. What I wouldn't pay to see this delightful short story fleshed out into a full blown novel!

Another fun story by J.R. Rain. A down-and-out private eye with some serious issues of his own is hired to find a missing vampire hunter. A wild story (in fact, it's a short book), but I liked it. Makes me wonder if we have the beginnings of another series?

This is not a novel. It is a short story of 10 thousand words or so, plus the first chapter of Rain's novel Moon Dance (which I already owned).Nowhere on the sales page did it disclose that Vampire With the Dragon Tattoo is a short story, so the obvious presumption was that it was a novel. It is a pretty good short story, and might merit 4 stars or so, but it's seriously irritating to have been deceived. Is it worth 4 bucks?, well, you can decide for yourself, but consider that at that price per word a full length novel might cost 50 to 75 dollars or more.Although I like Rain's writing, I dislike the smarmy marketing.I think in the future I'll stick to other authors.

Move over "Buffy"! You're so yesterday...

J.R. Rain does it again in a league of his own as he delivers a fast-paced novella starring a brand-new private detective who specializes in finding missing children. A distraught "grandma" wants Spinoza to find her missing granddaughter, Veronica, who just happens to be a vampire slayer. This time, J.R. Rain's private eye goes north to San Francisco and the setting is perfect for this engaging tale. From a goth bar decorated with coffins to the streets of San Francisco, it's a race against time as Spinoza must stop Veronica before she slays someone innocent. Because there are no such things as vampires, right? Riiiight.... Spinoza needs to separate fact from fiction and figuring out her target is the key to locating her before it's too late. The clock is ticking, Veronica's armed, she's dangerous, and she's done this before. This novella is a must-read for fans of vampire fiction and P.I. mysteries. I'm bitten and smitten! More please, Mr. Rain?

This may be the most ugly attempt to cash in on the work of other writers in the history of publishing. The title and subject matter are obviously drawn from much more highly acclaimed work, and the "novella" itself barely qualifies as a short story.Lazy and foolishIf the author has any sense at all, he'll pull this off the market before he sullies his name further.
