This entire review was a train wreck! This had no substance whatsoever, "Precious on crack?"

@AveolarD My point is that indirectly, Hollywood controls Mr. Perry. Even John Stewart of the Daily Show commented that "it's as if Hollywood uses Tyler Perry to show America that Blacks can't write". Yes, he employs Black actors. But, most of his writing reduces them to getting paid to coon. Check the t.v. for "Meet the Browns" and "House of Payne". If he really wanted to do our community and his craft some justice, he could have gone to film school 1000 times by now!

@SkiboogieNYC Do you not remember "Daddy's Little Girls?" Perfect example of a good father. Don't forget Tyler plays a single parent LAWYER in nearly all of his films he plays in. For people who haven't experienced these type of experiences won't understand the point. The man in the purple is the perfect example of someone who hasn't. His sarcasm is appauling and yet understandable. This is a poetic film. You have to go outside of the mindset of "I HATE THIS FILM" and think of deeper meanings.

One DL brother, one abuser/killer, one rapist, and one somewhat average black guy. This film had too much of the oh whoa is me victim mentality going on. The acting was o.k. but the stereotypes of black men and women in this movie made me glad I did not pay to see it.

I still don't understand why people think this movie is an attack on black men. Yes, black men are playing the characters but this is what the movie is about! Of course Tyler Perry isn't trying to say ALL black men are like this - He's trying to say there are MEN that are like this and women should be aware of it when they are in such situations. The scenarios that occur in this movie are very real with every race....it is NOT an attack on black men.

Men suck. Spoiler alert: They’ll cheat on you, impregnate you, beat you, abandon you, invite themselves over for dinner, take their PTSD rage out on you, and the only thing they’ll ever give you in return for your loyalty and love is heartbreak and maybe an STD

@vixenslothario just because tp is lacking does not mean hollywood has control over him, which is my point. we have to be a little patient with him. before he release control to others to write and direct some of his ideas, he must be assured that they will not abuse his scripts. there are many excellent writers out there, but can they be trusted to follow the idea that tp wants conveyed. it's a thin line vixexn and we can't hate on the brotha. everybody knows his abilities and inabilities.

A dad with PTSD grabs two of his kids and throws them out of a window from an apartment building and they die. I hoped I spoiled this film for you.

@SkiboogieNYC not all the men where "bad" the Hill Harper character, the one married to kerry washingtons character that was trying to get pregnant, he was a very good man and was there for her the entire time, even when she told him that she couldnt get pregnant, so he is trying to say that there is some good black men out there
