Lame remake. Senseless and totaly unnecessary.
The original stands as you say as a cult classic. This one is purely to grab some millions out from the pockets of the fans.
Bad special effects, bad makeup, no Robert, no envolvment of Wes Craven, teenagers that look like they're in their thirties...
CGI in this movie is cheap, and Jackie does a fairly job as the new Freddy... but he will mever be Freddy Krueger.
Not worth going to the movies... wait for the dvd.
