I was very excited to play this game after loving the movie so much, but I was very disappointed.I have a fairly decent and speedy computer, and the game slows it down so much that I had to try and time my mouse movements with the 5 second delay. The game starts out with death eaters chasing you and your mission is simply "defeat all death eaters" there are minimal instructions on HOW to do this, and it is difficult to aim as they are constantly moving around. It also just goes through this sequence about 5 times of you defeating death eaters in the air. The game is pretty much the same for the rest. You must defeat death eaters or at least survive an attack. This is accompanied by intermittent stealth sequences where you where Harry's invisibility cloak and must sneak past people who are apt to apparate right in front of you, causing you to walk into them. Also, there are occasional random missions that have absolutely nothing to do with the story at all. The one good thing it has going for it is the graphics, which are better than the previous games, but still pretty bad. Overall, this game is one of the worst games I have ever played, and definitely the worst Harry Potter game.I sincerely hope that EA does a better job on part 2.

I love the Harry Potters games. I was so excited when this game finally came out. I was thinking it would be like the Half Blood Prince. Where the graphics where amazing and you had a lot of control, very smooth moving.

I was shocked to discover how "choppy" the game is. Trying to aim at deatheaters and cast spells was frustrating. It had a lot of lag to it you move your mouse, you over moved it, you didn't move it at all it's a little more stable.

I thought I must have had a problem downloading it so I re did it and it didn't make any difference. There is no changing the settings. None that I know of. Moving Harry was frustrating as well while walking the animation looks like he's running or there is a very big wind that is always around him. It's hard to control.

I will say at the times where Harry and the gang meet up to talk to someone, when you have no control over the screen, the graphics where beautiful, smooth moving and I just wished that the whole game was like that. I'm so disappointed.

I read the other comments and thought "well, that's what they think, maybe they are more picky. I don't know." I think that a lot and get the game anyways and in this case it's true. Not worth spending the money on. It really isn't.

This is the best Harry Potter game yet! Being out of the ground of Hogwarts provides new graphics, required skills, and loads more to discover. I am very pleased with this game. I can't wait to see the movie.

The final Harry Potter movie, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, is an adaptation of the darkest book in the series. It only makes sense that the film is also going to be the darkest of its series. Harry Potter 7 was felt by the production crew to be so complex, despite not being the longest book in the series, that they reached a decision to split the film into two parts. So far, the first part, despite being out for only 8 days, has grossed about $400M. Now, onto the actual review! Im spite of the decision to split the film into two parts, everything still couldn't be included. It's best to judge it only as a movie, like the others, rather than as an adaptation of the book. My rating of the movie is 5 out of 5 stars. One of the reasons is that the characters have greatly developed from what they once were. Character development is always very important to anything that has characters, and no character development usually makes you not care about the characters at all! An example of this is Severus Snape. In the first two books and movies, Snape is purely hateable. There is a bit of humor behind the fact that Snape is so detestable. For instance, Snape makes up new rules just to have an excuse to take points off Gryffindor. In the third book and movie, it shows that Snape wasn't always to blame though. One time, he was almost killed, as a prank. In the fourth, it's shown that Snape is a spy for Dumbledore. In The Order of the Phoenix, despite the fact that Snape is even worse to Harry than usual, without him Harry would be in a much worse predicament than he was, at the end of the book (and film). In the sixth one, it's very obvious that he's evil. For those who haven't read the book, I won't spoil it, however Snape is still more complex than good or bad. Another example of character development is the trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione. My final example is how Dobby came from being a miserable house elf who usually got Harry injured in his attempts to help him, to a worker at Hogwarts. Dobby then strives to return the favor. Another reason this film merits a 5-star rating is the little touches added to the adaptation. For instance, the scene with Harry and Hermione dancing, after Ron leaves. Another such touch is the animation going with The Tale of the Three Brothers, when it is read aloud by Hermione. The film ended perfectly, leaving you wanting more. Nevertheless, it's very aggravating that we'll have to wait about 7 months to see the next one! In my opinion, the film was made stronger by introducing the Hallows themselves in this first act, rather than squeezing them into the second and making it look like an afterthought. The acting, for the next example of the film's rating, is superlative and stupendous. Every single person was perfect for their role and, if I were the director, I would not cast anyone else. The visuals are also great, ranging from black gloominess to a busy ministry to nice beaches and to snowy forests. These are only a few reasons why I think Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows earns a 5-star rating.

Other reviewers have stressed the importance of doing some background homework before seeing this movie. That's because the film, while making sense to people who've seen the others and read the books, won't to those who haven't.Even if you are a diehard Harry fan, you'll probably have your own opinions about what ought to have been included, and what wasn't.You may feel that some characters deserved more screen time and more of a backstory. But you'll probably agree that the second-to-last movie in the "Harry" series does a more than competent job of adapting the (unwieldy plotwise) book.

If you're going in cold, you may wonder things like, "What the heck is Horcrux?""Why aren't the kids still in school?""Who are all these characters that only get a few minutes of screen time and disappear without any real explanation?" and so on.Well, the kids have decided not to return to school after Headmaster Dumbledore's death in the last movie.A Horcrux is a piece of soul, and Voldemort has figured out a way to split himself into seven different ones. Before the final showdown with Voldy, Harry must recover all these Horcruxes. That's why he goes on that camping trip with just his two pals.Harry also has a telepathic connection with Voldy (again not explained) which allows him to be suddenly plunged into Voldy's memory. That accounts for some of the odd flashbacks.

For most of the movie, Harry, Hermione and Ron are on their own, dodging the frequent magic hurled at them by Voldemort's crew, while searching for Horcruxes and trying to decipher why Dumbledore left them each a gift in his will. Most of the major characters from the previous films (who haven't died) pop in for an appearance including Alan Rickman as the nefarious Severus Snape; Imelda Stanton as former Hogwart's Headmistress who now holds a position in the Ministry of Magic; and Tom Felton as Draco Malfoy, Harry's nemesis who has also been forced to grow up rather fast. Ralph Fiennes plays Voldemort capably as usual, but the villian who looks like she's having the most fun is Helena Bonham Carter, as Bellatrix.(Sadly, there is no Neville, but I expect we'll see him in the next film.)

You could argue that so much of the movie is unrelentingly bleak, spends too much time on the Great Camping Trip, etc., but all these things can also be said of the book it's based on.I, for one, felt a bit cheated at having to wait for yet another film, but to be fair, I don't see how the book would be better as a single film. So I'd recommend it anyway.

I am an avid fan of Harry Potter, I love the series and the movies. That being said I am sorely disappointed in the Deathly Hallows PC game. My sister and I both agree this is the worst game of the series and we regret wasting our money on it.

I found the storyline of the game to be very tiring and tedious. It follows the general premise of the movie (not the book) and yet Harry is made to do all of these ridiculously boring challenges, like detoxifying Sirius' house; walking up to people in his invisibility cloak (if you bump into someone you have to start over again); stunning a relentless stream of Death Eaters and walking, endlessly walking. I thought the first person (shooter) perspective of the game would be interesting but its just too slow for the quickness of the battles. It was too difficult to control both the wand and the camera at the same time, especially since the control options are so limited. If there was an option to change the camera angle (and if there is please someone tell me how!) it may have helped, but as it is I find the game dizzying in its utter inability to work properly.

The aim of Harry's wand is pathetic, I could barely hit anything and everything seems to depend on accuracy. I think the first person perspective also taints the beauty of the graphics (which are excellent in places) because you are too busy trying to get Harry to stop getting stuck in corners or behind rocks to notice the scenery.

I admit that I have not finished the game, I will labor through and get my money's worth but really EA Games, really? This was the best you could do?

I suggest the Harry Potter Lego Game years 1-4 if you have not already tried the other EA versions of Harry years 1-6. I recommend years 1,2,3,5.

I think director David Yates did as much with the material as could be expected. He got their best performances yet from the three stars, there was a little more humor than in the book (very welcome) and the outdoor locations were imaginative and in some cases majestic. All the vital plot ingredients were there to prepare viewers for the grand finale in part 2. Having said that, I found this an unsatisfying movie just because I wanted to see Part 2 immediately, not in 8 months' time. It's not that I don't know what happens, it's just that the first part of the movie resolves nothing. Once we see Part 2, it will be possible to pass a judgement on the whole. This instalment was good, but rather like trying to rate a meal when all you've had is the appetizer.

A warning: as is apparent from other reviews, this movie even more than the others relies on the viewer knowing the story in some detail before watching it. If you are a Harry Potter fan (like me), no problem. If you haven't got a good knowledge of the story so far, either bring yourself up to date with it up to the end of book/movie #6, or don't waste your time watching this one. It won't mean a thing to you.

While videos were being released for this game, I'm sure others like myself were excited to see the Harry Potter game getting a reboot of sorts with intense battles, improved graphics, and more exploring. Sadly, that's not what turned out.

I'm not sure where to start, but I'm going to list what I can to prevent any big Harry Potter fan from grabbing the worst Harry Potter game to come out thus far.

Graphics: the graphics are probably some of the best so far, but can be ruined by a filter that gets put over the screen during darker parts of the game. Now the offset of the great graphics, are the fact that it seems the developers felt they put enough work in to a few environments to not make anymore and just recycle them. Which takes me to the next part:

Environments: While many of the environments look nice, and have interesting paths to run around, you're often made to go through the same environments over and over again doing very similar missions. You'll soon get sick of the enviornments being forced to go through them over and over.

Battle Mechanics: So the big appeal of the trailers were the intense battles. It's not as exciting as it looks. Although you unlock several spells throughout the game, you'll fair just fine using the same one the entire time, making the appeal of other spells minimal. One of the best spells is the Cunfringo(sp?) spell which allows you to shoot an explosion of sorts.

Dodging Mechanis: During battles you are able to hide behind objects which is sort of useful. It can be hard to unhide yourself, lock on to your target, fire your spell, and hide yourself again without getting hit with many spells. Even if this does workout succesfully, the snatchers and death appears can apparate (Appear) anywhere, even right behind you, so hiding doesn't do much good.

The missions: While you'll have fun with the main plotline, it's broken up frequently with a set of three un-related to the quest missions you must complete before you can continue the plotline. This feels awkward, out of place, and ruins the story line. Now this wouldn't be a terrible thing, but each 3-mission section consist of the same 3 objections in different scenary. The 3 are: 1) Hide under your invisibility cloak while sneaky right next to death eaters and snatchers to free muggle-borns. This is often frustrating as bumping in to anyone results in your cloak coming off and being fired at, instead of a simple "What hit me?"And if you fail, even after releasing 5 of 6 muggle-borns, you'll have to start from the begining again. Tedius, and boring. 2) Releasing muggle-borns while being confronted with enemies to defeat. This is really the only fun of the 3 missions.3) Survive several waves of bad guys until they stop appearing and that mission is over.

All 3 pretty basic, and pretty boring and tedius.

My rating of 2 stars is only as a Harry Potter fan, otherwise I would give it 1/5 stars. Although the 5th and 6th video games were less than amazing, they are better than this game in my opinion.
