@Bdlsito  My friend, listen to one Mr. Jaco Pastorius if you want to hear the BEST bass lines of history. The one you comment on if good and complements the song, but Jaco was an acknowledged master that blew the doors off anyone playing from the mid 70's through the mid 80's.

Jermain had real chops on the bass. His father, Joseph Jackson, was a great guitar player with The Falcons. Also, Jermain had access to all those great Motown studio aces like James Jermerson that I am sure he learned some licks from.
