Just saw this movie, and it was beautiful, I wish everyone would see it, but I understand why it has mixed reviews, I think many people do not believe in psychic abilities or even the afterlife, so many critics probably had a difficult time getting into it, but for me it was fantastic to see a movie made about these themes. I mean, what is more profound than life, death, love, and the afterlife? absolutely nothing. (it was also nice to see such beautiful actresses too)

@Saffiros The fact of being bored or not liking a movie has nothing to do with one's spiritual beliefs in psyche, god or afterlife. The Sixth Sense was about someone that communicated with the deceased, and the movie was captivating, thrilling and had a strong punchline / conclusion. Yes, Hereafter was everything you said, beautiful, but I felt it was too slow and leaving a lot to desire. I feel exactly like @ FiddleAndStuff said earlier. Read his review, that's how I felt.

@FiddleAndStuff Thank you, that's what I thought of this movie. I'd give it a 2.5/5 and thought it was depressing and slow. What was even more depressing is that I saw a cute cat get hit by a car (and die a painful death) on my way to that movie. I was hoping for the big punchline but it never really came.

@mrjamespage I saw the Pepsi too! Some movie theaters don't say "Do not bring outside food" and unless ppl start abusing the system, they will tolerate things to a point. No need to be a narc. But yes, good catch, made me smile.

@FiddleAndStuff After reading several reviews as well as interviews with Clint Eastwood and Peter Morgan. Your reaction sounds more in line with what I was expecting rather than the people in that video.

@BoxNinjaProductions Cool is not a word I would use to describe a depressive slow movie.

Britt Bucciarelli says...

@MonoKulen According to reviewer Roger Ebert: " Eastwood told me Morgan doesn't believe in an afterlife." And then you have Eastwood who simply does not know (though the tone in one of his interviews gave me the impression he doesn't believe).

@madeinquebec

thinking that death is the end of everyone forever is more depressing to me than watching a movie about the uplifting possibilities that there is an afterlife
