Listen. I know that there are ton of people bashing this game. I am a fan of the series, and I feel like it is getting a bit of a harsh review. This game is not Gears of War. It is a licensed movie game. Based on that fact alone, you should know what you are getting into. This is not the most polished shooter in the world, but from a story telling perspective I found it to be enjoyable. The stealth sequences were fun and at times kept me on the seat of my pants. I am not a die hard gamer, so I actually enjoyed the fact that the enemies were not too difficult for me to figure out. The frantic pace of it was fun, and it left the door open for trying to find strategies for the different situations. I will say that I had a hard time telling what was good cover from the bad cover.

Overall, I think this is certainly a game that Harry Potter fans will enjoy. If you are going to see the movie, you should give this one a try. In my close circle of friends, we are split on this one. Check it out for yourself and see what you think.

I enjoy the game, I only wish there was a little more guidance. It needs to have a menu option available to remind you how each spell works. The Kinect version especially needs a little more help. I still can't figure out how to use my potions. Considering how new the Kinect is, I would have expected more instructional help as far as how each spell works. There is a very, VERY brief flash of information that literally flashes on the screen before each level and then nothing.

I think either a tutorial or an accessible menu on spell usage is needed. For the Kinect portion anyway.

I still manage to move survive each level and progress, but it's frustrating and takes away from the fun a little. That said, I don't regret my purchase and I really like the game. I just feel there is not enough information readily available to help you figure out the functionality parts of the game.

A 15 year old teenager and the 2 adults here love this game. We played it with the Kinect and had a blast.

We aren't gaming purists. When my husband and I were young "pong" and "pac-man" was all the rage. (I think my parents still have the radio shack "pong' gaming box and controllers that came with it.) We just know a fun game and one that works appropriately when we see one. This is one of them.

Believe me, there is much to enjoy about many of todays games including this one. I read some of these negative reviews and I think people just don't know how to see a good game for being a good game.Great Graphics and tons of fun. No glitches in our game at all.

Keep in mind...there are many posting negative things against anything associated with the kinect because theyare against any system that rivals or surpasses the game system they are currently playing. It's pathetic but true.

Let me get straight to the point. This game blows and is in my estimation, an early candidate for worst game of the year. The history of Harry Potter hasn't always been a good one. They have ranged from fair to acceptable, but have never really reached the heights of imagination from the rich source material that they came from. However, you could not deny that they were each good, solid efforts with the next iteration improving from the one before it.Then comes Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1.Gone are the free roaming explorations of Hogwarts. This time Harry and friends are on the run.And with this one bold plot course in the book, goes any semblence of a decent Harry Potter game. What developer EA Bright Light did so well in the previous game in terms of sandbox gaming is now replaced by a clunky third person shooter. This gameplay change could have been a welcomed divergence to the previous games if only were the mechanics not so broken.

You start off playing as Harry with one main spell that eventually swells to half a dozen or so while progressing through the game.I'm okay with the variety, yet I never found myself using anything other than the stupify spell which seemed more effective against enemies. There is a cover mechanic yet good luck finding a barrier to hide behind that will stick and keep you from getting hit with spell projectiles. The lock on mechanic is slippery and you'll often find yourself casting spells at empty air when it was focused on an enemy a second ago. Even more odd is that in some parts of the game, the view will shift from a third person perspective to a first person perspective without any rhyme or reason other than the developers trying to shake up the dull gameplay. There was one instance in the game that literally had me tearing my hair out.Harry is hidden under his invisibility cloak and must sneak around to accomplish a mission without being discovered.Once the mission is over, Harry must then sneak back to the original point in which he started in order to trigger a cut scene. The difficulty level then spikes and all of a sudden you're being discovered without anyone near you.I must have tried this level a dozen or so times before I finally got past it, yet I have no idea if it was due to my skill or just chance.

The graphics are equally bad.Though Harry, Hermione and Ron look detailed enough, they inhabit a world of muddy textures and dull environments. The cut scenes seemed rushed and unfinished and failed to stitch together any semblence of a coherent plot.Harry is given a mission to find the remaining Horcruxes, yet he then must partake in side missions that involve him sneaking out of a dragon's lair (don't ask how he got there), rescuing muggles and freeing captured wizards.Weird.

I never expected a great Harry Potter game, but I could always expect a competent one that offered me a couple hours of fun as a fan of the series.Deathly Hallows completely flipped the formula and instead offered a game so ugly and crippled by its gameplay mechanics that it's a shame that the best book in the series could not serve as inspiration for a good game. There is a couple of months for the developer to correct their mistakes before the second part of this game is released in July of 2011 but I'm not holding my breath.

Disclaimer:This review is only for the Kinect portion of the game.

Every time I buy video games or movies without doing my homework I get burned! This game falls in that category...I bought it with the idea that you could play the whole thing with Kinect, and I was disappointed. It's not that the Kinect challenges aren't any fun, I just wish they weren't such a tiny portion of the overall game. Each challenge takes about 5 minutes to complete.I find it entertaining, just not what I'd hoped for.

This game was pretty fun right off the bat. The cut-scenes are a little bit drawn out, but I guess it's good if you want to hear the story all over again. It pretty much walks you through the story line with a fair degree of accuracy. The fights seem to get a little bit repetitive though. By the end of the game, you just end up running through the level with your invisibility cloak on and avoid all contact with enemies because you just want to get to the end of the game. The graphics were pretty good overall, and the scenery is pretty cool as well. I feel that this game is the best one since the Prisoner of Azkaban game. I have played all of the games aside from the Half-Blood Prince, and this one ranks up there at about 2nd or 3rd on my list of favorites. My personal favorite was the Prisoner of Azkaban because of the freedom to roam the castle and fly around on your broomstick, but this game offers non-stop dueling, which is a pretty awesome feature as well. There aren't any tedious puzzle missions in this game, but instead, just linear levels, with some Death Eaters and Snatchers along the way. Overall, it's a fun game, but once you beat it, you probably won't play it again.

I was really looking forward to this game, since we just got a Kinect and it's compatible with Kinect. However, the Kinect features weren't as exciting as I thought they would be.The gameplay with the controller is fun, but I wish they had spent more time with the Kinect features.

I absolutely love this game!!! I got it 2 days ago and have played it over 8 hours. It is way better than the half blood prince(I have bought them all). But keep in mind it is a lot different than the half blood prince where you could explore the whole castle. This game is more like you have to complete tasks to advance in the game. I love the game and suggest you get it to!! =)
