If you liked Hangover, you will probably love Greek... if not, oh well.Way funnier, I think, than Sarah Marshall (several of the same actors)... Many friends have watched and each seems to have adopted a particular scene... Hilarious! (but then I have a weak spot for sick humor... not offensive though).

The movie starts out a bit slow as it shows rocker Aldous Snow (Russell Brand) who is the last of the great rockers, selling out and taping a lame video. At first I thought this was going to be a "Spinal Tap" type spoof and a one star movie. However, we later find out that the video was considered to be bad by the entire world. Aaron Green (Jonah Hill) is a lackey for a gangsta rap record company who also produces Aldous Snow. Green has an idea to have a 10 year concert reunion show at the Greek with Aldous Snow. The record company buys off on the deal and sends the overweight somewhat straight-laced once monogamous Green to bring heroin addicted, booze guzzling, party animal to the Greek Theater in LA. He has difficulties as expected. The party scenes climax in Las Vegas where Aldous teams up with his estranged father who credits his DNA for his son's success. To make the film interesting for women, it also has scenes about "the relationship." The movie is humorous and the "sad" parts are never really sad.

If you want one of those rare flicks, that will have you in stitches from start to finish? By far one of this years top films! It's not for everyone, some people will be offended by this humor. The Greek"extremely, graphic, sexual, raunchy, drug oriented, stupid, wild, fun & a bizarre comedy at it's worst. It is way out there but relatable, creative & funny! Strictly because the nature of this film. I will toss out some titles(NOT TO COMPARE)these will give you more to go by:Tropic Thunder,Pineapple Express,Zoo Lander,Spun & classic comedies i.e. Johnny Dangerously & Blazing saddles. Now if they made them R or unrated by today's standards.

Despite the attempts to trivialize this movie in its previews. This movie is nothing like what is presented. Instead it's an insightful, funny comedy that actually demands the viewers attention instead of getting off on cheap fart jokes. Brand is amazing and Hill is his usual charming self. Overall a must see as far as comedies go.

Get Him To The Greek is definitely funny! Keep in mind it's the juvenile adult raunchy humor so if you aren't amused by that type of comedy or are easily offended then you most likely will not enjoy this. This is definitely your sex, drugs & rock and roll type of comedy. The acting & casting was great! Diddy had some funny moments as well. There were a few slow parts but I was laughing out loud through most of the movie. When you're looking for a light, funny, good times kind of movie - this will fit the bill!

I loved Brand in Forgetting Sarah Marshall, but Segel's script for that looks like Shakespeare compared to some of this. RB was allowed to improv heavily in FSM and it injected real energy into his scenes. Here he's either working mostly from the flaccid script, or just couldn't reach his previous heights. Perhaps now that he's a real star, as opposed to on the cusp as in FSM, his brio is gone-o.

Hill is good here, but at this rate he's going to have to change his name to Jonah Mountain. It's kind of painful to watch someone eat himself into morbidly obese territory, film by film, especially as he can be quite funny at times. John Candy and Chris Farley showed where that road leads; must we see their story yet again? It would be nice to watch Hill for another 20 years, not 2. His weight makes his role here even more unbelievable; if you know the super-phony worlds of the music biz and L.A., you know that very few guys looking like him ever get past Assistant to the VP of Nothing status.

On that note, however, Puffy delivers the best performance in the film. He's truly funny at times and gave me most of the best laughs here. The guy's got real comic presence. More, please! (But why does a multi-millionaire with six kids have a 16-cubic-foot fridge?)

Brand does have his moments, but all in all I felt let down. Then again, his stand-up dvd isn't that funny, though his autobiography does have moments of genius. Who knows? Maybe he peaked with FSM and it's all downhill from there. The rock-star cliches can only be milked for so long, and then one must actually deliver some depth. Brand has the intellect to do it; let's hope his next vehicle shows more humor than this.

There's a LOT of drug usage here, so if that offends you, better avoid this. I don't mind drug humor, or any humor for that matter...if it's funny. Here, it falls mostly flat. Outrageousness is a laugh for a while, then actual content is needed---as RB is learning.

I laughed out loud maybe six times during Greek, which is ok, but nothing compared to what I expected from the Aldous Snow we saw in FSM. If you love Hill or Brand, you'll enjoy this, but don't feel bad if you give it a pass. It's one of the weakest things to come out of the Apatow Factory, and you'd be better off and get more laughs from watching The 40-Year-Old Virgin again.

PS I watched the rental dvd, and had to laugh that the menu included gag reel, etc (which might better than the movie, not a real stretch), but when you click on them you get a message saying, "Buy the dvd to get all these extras we put up on the menu to remind you what greedy Hollywood weasels we are!" Well, no thanks, and good luck getting any sympathy for your incessant warnings and whinings about piracy. The real pirates are you guys, and all those Pacific Rim countries knocking your stuff off for a buck are just following your lead: grab as much as you can from whomever you can, and worry more about the profits than the quality of the product.

Edan Aharony - A hilarious movie a notch below The Hangover or I should say 2 notches below which says highly about this movie. Jonah Hill is great in portraying himself, it seems. The guy is continually torn between his need to fulfill the life he always dreamed of (Rock and Roll, Chicks and Drugs) and the life he know is the right life to live - a stable life with a good paying job and a wife that loves him. Russel Brand as the rocker, a roll he carried over from Forgetting Sarah Marshall (she makes a cameo in this movie)is excellent. He is the one who is drawing Jonah Hill to the forbidden life and he does it with great talent. And P Diddy is the master mind of it all the guy who mind [...] everyone. Great movie, lots of laughs. A friend recommended that I watch this movie since Russell Brand reprised his role from "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" a movie which I liked. Brand was funny again in this movie, but overall I found the movie somewhat boring and disappointing. My favorite part of the entire film was when they were making fun of Malfoy from the Harry Potter movies. Of course that scene was about 15 seconds. I paid $8 or $9 for the DVD so at least it was cheap. If you still want to see it, I would rent it from one of those $1 per day rental machines rather than buying it. I would rate it at 2 1/2 stars.

This was a really good movie! Was it better than Forgetting Sarah Marshall? No, but not too many movies are. Was it a really funny movie with an AMAZING soundtrack? YES! One person who reviewed this claimed he was a big fan of Family Guy and that is just mindless nonsense. If you want a good film with REAL humor and great music, check it out!

In this Forgetting Sarah Marshall spin off, Jonah Hill plays Aaron Greene, a talent scout who in order to keep his job at P Diddy's declining record label, must pick up drugged up rock star Aldous Snow (Brand) for a major concert at The Greek theater.

There are some comedic moments in the film but most of the scenes were far too bizarre to be funny. The scene where aaron takes drugs and begins stroking the wall carpet just confused me, the threesome discussion was stupid and unbelievable while the scene where he had to shove a packet of drugs up his behind was lame. The only thing that made me laugh was P Diddy playing a caricature of himself.

There are also various cameos by Pink, Lars Ulrich and Kristen Bell but don't expect much out of those either.

I'll give this film credit for its attempt at characterization. Both characters have personality flaws resulting in problems with their respective girlfriends which are resolved by their experiences in the road trip. However, the scenes in which Aldous and Aaron have their "moment" are much too contrived and you know exactly what they're going to say before they do.

Despite being a teenager, this film did not make me laugh. It was just weird and at times insincere.
