| Elizabeth Gilbert Eat Pray LoveA journey to Italy, India, Indonesia and Become a journey of self discovery for one woman in EAT, PRAY, LOVE.Author Elizabeth Gilbert Talks About Her humorous, moving, and revelatory memoir. CommentsFausto Matty says... @smytryan yeah i get what your saying but i disagree.. she's a writer it's not her fault her book was liked; and the book was very personal so she pretty much bared herself and you call her selfish and call her a b**** for it. Theres nothing wrong with doing things for yourself you know maybe you should try it. She was on a journey for herself and while she was she also helped one of her friends from Bali by helping her get a house.. just saying have u ever done that? Posted on September 6, 2010 Thurman Langlo says... Yes we have become a selfish culture in some respects, but in other ways we neglect ourselves and our needs deep down. I hate the Puritan-ist message where we are told we need to completely deny ourselves, our needs and our desires for other people, when in reality you need balance. You can't give if you're running on empty., it was this self depriving mindset that we were taught for many years actually feeds the consumerist society we live in today- One extreme fed the other. Women really are more sensitive and they take emotional stuff more seriously than men. In general. What women are writing is reflection not complaint. People get over things differently and in order to go on, first, you got to find a way to let bad things go. Posted on September 8, 2010 Margeret Simpers says... I agree with u on this one @lizark004. @smitryan How is she a b****. Its called self discovery by finding and loving yourself first. Trying to balance her life and spirituality. Its her life and her choice. You can't force someone to marry if they aren't happy with that perticular person. Or control a woman's life and her freedom. You cannot deny her guilt and you cannot deny her pain from her past. Not everybody in this world is not meant to be married. The truth is that everybody was born in this world alone without a lover. And God and their families were always there. Posted on September 10, 2010 Reginia Rayshell says... We can't give to others until we have looked after ourselves first, and we can't fully function in society until we know ourselves and who we really are Posted on September 10, 2010 Britteny Radick says... Anyone got the video of the Oprah Eat Pray Love? Please post! Posted on September 11, 2010 Araceli Stockfisch says... I had know nothing of this book or movie, I clowned it while my ex-wife was lonely and asked if i would escort her to a movie. I found it fasinating to say the least, half way through it mt ex was "board' and making noises and vulgar comments while I found myself captured in the venture of this women. I have been on a self discovery venture myself,I`ve asked myself 3 questions. What is more important, Joy Peace or Devotion and What am I doing with my time. Thank you ms gilbert for your memoires.
