No, it is not like in the USA. There are no "special veterans benefits". Once you have demobbed you become an ordinary citizen. There are no guaranteed loans to buy houses. If you have the right basic qualifications you can attend a university for free except for the enrolling fee, but you have to support yourself financially during your studies.
You are entitled to a pension which is calculated according to your years of service.
