After discussing The original 1981 Clash of the Titans - a topic That Was Prompted By The upcoming remake - I Was Inspired to do annually updated trailer for it. http://www.HaphazardStuff.com
Starring Harry Hamlin as Perseus, Laurence Olivier as Zeus, Along With Maggie Smith, Burgess Meredith, Ursula Andress & the stop-motion creatures of Ray Harryhausen (who retired after this film) Was Always a favorite of mine When I was little. Despite looking a bit The Effects rough, I still enjoyed it and the Medusa scene freaked me out.
Maggie Smith before she became Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter series.

Epic editting!
LOL as cheesy as this movie is, it is one of my favourites. It's not a bad cheesy... It's like an old Greek theater kind of cheesy. But it's so much better than the remake. I wish I had it right now, but my mom lent it to someone and we haven't gotten it back.

@AdamYJ I agree, there is something about old school effects that is so much more appealing than todays CGI technology!

@Sash5034, this film came out a year before Tron, a year after Empire Strikes Back, and according to Boxofficemojo, cost nearly as much to make - what an embarrassing comparison. The 1960's effects looked lame in 1981 and they haven't gotten better with age. The 2010 version, though suffering from script and pacing issues, is at least a well-crafted film, which the 1981 version is not.

This original version is so much better than the remake just because Perseus was actually likable here. In the remake, he went through the whole thing brooding and growling something about "Doing this as a man".
Plus, the old-school effects have a charm that CGI doesn't.
