Case 39 Reviewed By Mark Kermode

Something about Mark's actually fairly negative review of Case 39 really compelled me to go see it, even though I usually scoff every new boring unoriginal horror film that comes around. I went to see it yesterday (orange wednesdays ofcourse). It was rubbish.

Tideland was superb.

This movie was really well crafted and probably so insightful - that it's in danger of being misunderstood... From the first uneasy sign that any child of horrific abuse cannot possibly appear to transition so smoothly into her newly adopted household (so... where's the anger? the mistrust...?) all the way to the drowning of a mindreading demon in the ocean of the unconscious. Like Jacob's Ladder, most will miss this masterpiece.

the movie kind of reminds me of orphan a little. orphan was better though.
