Posted on July 14, 2011 Robert Hebden says... this trailer was so much better than the Platinum Dunes remake. The idea of him being on fire ALL THE TIME is just awesome. And his voice just has such a menacing deepness to it, where you're just like "wow, holy shit", the quality of this trailer is top notch in my opinion. I like that the Nancy of this trailer, being its in the 21st century, doesn't have to represent the new "emo" look that seems to be plaguing new horror films, and the rest of the world typically. If you'd been given the opportunity to apply the makeup and embers/burning effects to a skinnier, more gaunt looking actor this would have probably been (dare I say) the best Freddy concept to date IMO. It seems you kind of kept Michael Bays' overall style in mind as you created this- a kind of Texas Chainsaw remake essence to it with the coroner affirmation and the pre-nightmare Freddy...which was very cool. I really like this idea. It won't work throughout an entire movie, but it looks great in short bursts. The only problem now is how do we go on after the new movie came out. Freddy is now a pedaphile and not all that scary, just a creepshow. I really appreciate your enthusiasm for this piece. I wish the makers of the new movie would have had that same feeling.
